Racing @ Byron, IL

I know we have some lurkers here from lllinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa. The Chicagoland GSCA is racing this Sunday at Byron Dragway near Rockford, IL. I know there will be at least on Carb/Turbo Buick there.

This is a low intensity event, so if you've never run before, or are shy about running a slower car at the track, this is the event for you. Great people, great time.

Well Byron kinda sucked. 4 runs in 6 hours and I got a bad hamburger. I was trying out my alcohol injection using two pump and never got it worked out right. All four runs in the high 15's.


But the next weekend was at Cordova, IL for a BOP event. 10 runs, all in the low 15's. Best was a 15.19 @ 89. Didn't quite make the 14's, but I'm still . Consistent low 15's at 16 psi of boost and very little knock. Mid 15's was my goal this year, and I beat it. Next year will be 14's for sure.

Here's a picture of my car on the starting line at Cordova. (I picked up an '84/85 GN air dam for it. ) Next I might get the wife to drive the '82 GN. Then we can be team "Before Black".
