The point isn't that it's just a car, it is the violation of some puke coming to my home and stealing my property. The when it happens to them or they get caught they start ranting and raving about how unfair it is and how the system screws them around and hows there is no justice, blah, blah, blah... I'm pleased I caught the turds (valid cop term) who stole mine, although they would't admit it and I never recovered it. There was some comfort in catching them red-handed. They were brother on probation for multiple counts of "unauthorized use of a motor vehicle" (You don't steal cars down here, you just borrow them, because nobody can prove you weren't planning on returning it some day) it used to be a class "A" now it's a state jail felony, but they usually plead it down to a class "A" anyway. This is from the same state that is about to free a convicted mass-murderer and found Robert Durst not guilty of murder. I love being a cop in Texas!

the otehr thing that bothered me is the cops told me these guys had to be following me around for a few days to a week to have stolen it from where it was at the time they stole it... THAT freaked me out...

No, to some people, it is more than that. And it might be all that they do have in their life.
Regardless: This is how I feel, whether you own 1 car or a thousand:
My heart goes out to anybody and everybody who has ever gone through this. Some of these accounts are truly heartbreaking and gutwretching. No one should ever have to have the heartache of going out and finding an empty space where a car used to be.
My hat is off to all of you guys who have lost t-r cars, or anything for that matter. If I have a choice, I would rather take a chance in court for shooting someone, even unarmed, even though I would probably lose, that to watch someone drive off in any of my cars. Even tools. Thievery is the lowest form of life there is.
