I am hearing a rattle sound coming from what I think is my air filter after boosting, even a few pounds. The faster I let off the pedal, the faster the rattle. I am holding good vacuum levels and boost levels are normal (12lbs at the intake.) so no effect on performance, just annoying. Any ideas on this one?

It is compressor surge i.e. you lift off the throttle under boost and the turbo is still spinning and packing air against the intake Manifold area.
Most turbo cars have a Bypass/Blowoff Valve to equalize the compressor surge that I spoke of. Comp surge puts strain on the compressor wheel and bearings in the turbo.
98% of the Buick guys frown on Blow Off Valves, most state it is worthless and they have thousands of miles and hundreds of passes and they have no sign of problem ....most think it is to import.
Me, I believe in them and have owned several high end turbo cars and all came with them from the factory or I have deleted the factory ones and installed high performance ones once I started building the cars up to race level and the OEM stuff could not hang.

Happy Holidays...Santa needs Boost

Why would anyone want to install a BOV???

Turbo failure gives a DAMN good reason to upgrade! ;)
