My name is Elissa Schertz. I am the sister of Eric Schertz from Dynotech Performance. First, I would like to thank everyone for all there support throughout the whole Buick and Racing communities during this very sad time. My brother....Need I say more! I think by reading all these posts everywhere that I found out what I already knew. He was very well respected, liked and caring individual whos work was impecable, and it showed. Eric took pride in every job he did. Being in the same line of business as him, we'd sit and talk for hours about jobs we were working on and Eric was always coming up with something to do to everyones car to make it that much better. Always excited to try new things...(especially with his own cars!) There are many of you who knew my brother (both on a personal level as well as business) and some who didnt. But even the ones who didnt know him personally or have had work done by him, truly expressed what a very sad loss to everyone this is. Eric...you will be missed by many! RIP Brother. Alot of people were expressing how they could be of help. If there is anyone looking to do anything, Donations are being made to their childrens Jack(5) & Marc's(3) college education. Checks can be made to College America and sent to her home @ 2900 Island Channel Rd. Seaford, NY 11783. Also...other ways people can help the family is that items from his business wil be sold. Such as parts, equipment as well as misc items. If there is anyone looking for anything, please email me @ micmse22@aol.com with information on what you are looking for. Again, thank you for all your support during this difficult time!

Elissa, my name is Claude and I've been one of Eric's customers from his very beginnings with Dynotech...He built my transmission even before he bought Dynotech from Fred Vetter...I used to be one of Fred Vetter's customers and that's how I first met Eric...
I do have a lot of parts on my Buick GN that came off from Eric's personal car when he built the engine I currently have. Eric even drove my car all weekend last September at the Labor Day weekend Buick race in Englishtown, NJ, trying to fine tune it the best he could.
I was wondering if there was someone (maybe Eric's employees...) who's going to keep Dynotech open...or will it eventually close?...I spoke with Liz last weekend trying to help her with her request to locate Fred Vetter and Allan LaFoe (which I did), but I did not think it was the right time to ask her about this...I must say that I'd prefer staying with Dynotech as Fred and later on Eric went to a lot of work (as always) to help me with my car. But I don't know what's going to happen now...Eric became a very good friend for me over time...it's just too bad I live a little far (QC Canada)...

Thank you, regards,

Claude

Elissa, I worked for Eric for a while at the Manville shop until he moved it "over the bridge". If there's anything I can do to help, grab my number from Joe and give me a call. If it will help, I can lend a hand getting any work out of the shop that's left to be done. Your brother was a great guy and it was a pleasure having known him. I have to head out there to pick up my transmission anyway, he had called me that friday afternoon to tell me it was all set. When I got the call the next day, I couldn't believe it, I still haven't fully accepted that my old boss and friend is gone.

My condolences,
Artie

Elissa,I knew Eric pretty well ans always looked forward to pitting with him at the High_tech shootouts at Englishtown.
Those times will be cherished and the future ones will be missed.
A donation in coming their way.
RIP Eric Schertz:frown:

We were very close friends

Not only did Eric purchase from us, we were very close on a very personal level. He and I would be on the phone at all hours of the night comparing our successes, our hardships and our health. Eric and I have alot in common as far as our health, was concerned. We would try to pump each other up when the other was down. When one of us had a problem, the other was there to confide in. We had many, many, heart to heart talks. I will miss that the most. It was a priceless relationship. Liz knows she can count on me for any and all help she may need from us. Eric and I would talk ALOT about our kids. The funny things they would do, and the responsibility of raising them. Since hearing the news, I have been in a fog. I will miss him, our talks and his advice dearly. Cannot express how much. If Liz or you should need any help that our family can do, I am sure Liz will call. I will do anything I can.
Man, I am gonna miss him.:( .
In a dream last night, I heard he ran a 9sec pass in heaven!
Prayers and love to all in the Schertz family.
I still can't beleive I am typing this.

Last night, I overheard my daughter saying her prayers before bed. I heard her say, ""And Lord, Please take care of my Daddy's friend who is on his way to you. Please take very good care of him as Daddy and his friends, and their families, miss him so much".
( This made me cry, yes I will admit it)

We will be sending Liz something for the boys account.

Loved him as a friend and compadre`
Will miss him like a brother!

Bruce Toelle
Cindy And Kendra as well.
