1. The vega converter was a good tirck, only it will not work on the 200R4 / 700R4 lock-up's. It will fit 60/70/83^ 125, 250, 275, 300, 325, 350, 375, 400, 425 Turbo-Hydra-Matics, although none of the Metric/lockups/ or the dual pitch converter transmissions. The same Converter can change it's stall , through a function of basic or theoretically torque increase, even on the same engine. The better the Volumetric efficiency, more horsepower/torque will occure, leading to higher stall speeds.

As for the worry of boost, of where or when...it can all be changed. A simple change of the A/R of the turbine, and or, compressor housings can be made. Even a wheel-trim impeller profile will raises or lower boost onset. All of each can be done when you understand the what/why.

I have a cat back, i also have the cut-out on the car....so really I dont have a cat  The actuall mufflers are flowmasters. I heard they are not too great for the turbo world.

They suck. I have a 3inch dual flowmaster setup on one of my cars. Through the muffs it spools like a pig. Open it spools in one second. I pick up over 6 psi opening the exhaust without touching the boost knob. Try it with open exhaust and see if it improves. Back the boost adjuster way down first though.

Thats what I have been told. I have not had a chance to run the car open dump yet, so I dont know how it will react. Looking at my mufflers it looks like its a pretty easy change to get rid of the flowmasters. What is a better application?

My solution is an electric cutout. I havent found any high flowing mufflers that dont drone like a SOB so i just open and close the cutout as needed from a switch. Anything with a straight through design will flow close to a piece of straight pipe. I have a really nice barely used pair of old ATR pitbulls im not using. They are beautiful and flow great. PM if interested. Plan on a big difference in spool when you open it up.

THANKS!!!! I will let you know. At this point I want to get my car back, break things in...or just break things ;) and see how the cut out helps out. I installed a bunch of new toys on the car including that test pipe that I have not even tryed out yet.
