Real-time ECM communication data output to scan tool?

Guys,

Have you ever seen when connected via scan tool like a snaon-on and or laptop that the reading results for like RPM's, or O2 and other others just keep bouncing all over the place and just dont set slowly at idle? I wonder if this old ANS stage 4 chip has taken a dump, but to play it safe went and ordered a new Turbotweak chip last night.

Thats about normal. Also, the stock ECM datastream only updates every 1.5 seconds. A PowerLogger would be a much better alternative.

The guy I took it to to hook it up to the scan tool works on GN's all the the time and says that my results are all over the place and not consistent or steady, I guess my RPM's are all over the place and my O2 readings are jumping way up and down. He feels that the chip is going, I told him that it did the same when I connected it to my laptop, I just thought that was normal.

I have the orginal chip and going to plug that it since the new chip was just ordered and see if the stock chip does the same. I also have access to a working none good working ECM if the chip continues to do the same.

Find a new mechanic because Im telling you, thats normal. The O2s are all over the place at idle with a closed loop chip.

Chip is going? Should either have memory or not.

Talk to Bob Bailey, mine did that with the scanmaster and it was the low speed fan early causing interference.
