What if I have .031-.032" end play on all the pinions? The book says between .009-.024". Do I have to replace the entire assembly? I don't think there are any washers to replace since the pinions are riveted in.
Is this a problem?

There is a kit to rebuild planetaries, but why bother? If in doubt, throw it out. BTW, my book lists late '80's th200C as using the same part # (8639909) as the 200-4r. :)

I was just going to get new steel washers and bronze washers to tighten up from Transtar. They don't even sell the assembly so where else would I get a new one?
Thanks Nordbert.

A local transmission shop should have a source for used parts.
Have you tried getting one from chris718? Maybe a friend or
stranger has a th200c by his garage in the weeds?

I bought a pinion washer repair kit from Transtar, the only problem is the bronze washers are not linked like the stock ones. This allows them to rotate which the stock bronze were held stationary.
