i got rear ended last night at like 5 MPH. He bent my exhaust pipe and cracked my fiberglass bumper. I know i can buff out the white marks that he left on my bumper, but im worried about everything else. the exhaust pipe is pinched, and is rubbing against the tire. i pulled it off the tire, but im still worried about it being pinched. can i still drive it while the exhaust is pinched without messing up my engine? how do you repair fiberglass? im so mad, i just got the car running and this happens. please tell me some good news. thanks guys.

Well,

What kind of exhaust do you have?? Stock exits? Monte SS exits?? dual? Single? Also, where did it 'pinch' the exhaust? Did it push anything further up?? Cat or test pipe?? Down pipe?? Funny how an accident in the back can mess up things in the front.

As far as the fillers.. you may have to bite the bullet and find someone who will sell you good ones. Easier then repairing them I think. If you live in a very hot climate like Florida, those fillers will get cracked anyways.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck.

look on the bright side its a rearend accident... so he owes you whatever it costs to fix anyway... So have it estimated properly and his insurance company pays...

thats the thing, my friend hit me. dont want to kill his insurance. just wondering how much its going to cost overall. he works at a detailing shop, so i figured he would detail my car whenever too.

Monte exit, its bent right after the rear, at the down section of the pipe. no visible muffler or cat damage. how about that fiberglass? :(

easy fix...by someone who knows what they're doing.
take it to a shop!

you don't want cheesy monte exits anyway. and you just found out why ;)

Well,

If you need to move the car just to move it, why can't you just cut the pipe before the bend?? It's trash anyways. At least there won't be backpressure issues. I don't think there would be problems with that anyways, but if you're worried. I just wouldn't drive around all day like that.. you'll start getting CO in the car.

As far as the glass... if it can be fixed, great. Didn't think it could be... or would be worth it.

So, it's a friend that hit you. That's cool to not kill his insurance. Just make sure he DOES pay you or get it fixed... in a timely fashion. You may want to think about putting this in writing. I had a girl hit my car once that I was just starting to see. That was a great way to get her phone number and all. But the money sure trickled in slowly.

Good luck.
