I dropped the rearend to have an Eaton posi trac installed, while I was at it I figured may as well do the bushings, C/A's and springs. The question is I've got the Kirban rate wound springs, since they look much tighter wound on one side than the other, which end goes up, which end goes down? Also the stock springs only had the rubber bushing (isolator) on the top spring mount, is that correct? I know GM made these cars missing all type of bushings they should have. Thanks guy's.

kirbans are the cargo coils and tight wound side goes to the top

the insulator goes to the top

as far as gm 'missing' bushings in particular the lower #3 #4 and #7 body mounts that term missing is misused , the designers determined either through cost vs effectiveness for a car that was meant to be a luxury car to not use bushings and just use a large washers . if you check the service manuals youll see it is supposed to be that way , but kirban does sell a bushing kit for those "missing ' ones if you want to put them there . when i redid mine i put all the originals and the lower "missing ones" and the #5 "gnx " ones

Hey thanks for the info, I actually did all my body bushings with the Energy suspension bushing a few months back when I started tearing this car down. One more thing, I see the Kirben springs are taller, will the rearend ride higher or will the ride height be the same as the stockers? maybe the stockers are just that saggy, but the difference is like 2" that seems like alot.
