rear wheel play?

While I was loading up my 87 GN on the roll back to transport it to my new place I noticed something. I can take the rear wheel and push in and out with a bit of play. Not rocking the wheel top to bottom, but grabbing the sides and pushing in and pulling out. I can hear a clunking sound. Wheel bearings?

As long as you are not having any other rear end issues..What you are describing is normal.There is some play in a stock rear end. :wink:
