Rechargeable drill?? Dewalt vs Rigid

I currently have a 18V Dewalt an want to replace it an Home Depot has the 24V Lithium Rigid 4PC combo on sale now for $316.00 with hammer drill,light,recip. saw an circ. saw. Anyone have experience with the 24V Rigid or both to compare. I know it has more power obviously compared to Dewalt just wondering about other charateristics!!

Dewalt! Just got one and it is one heck of a drill. Recharges fast and holds even longer. Much better than my old Skil or Makita.

Dewalt are the best but Ridged has a better waranty. When i worked at Home Depot Ridged was one of the only brands that you could exchange at the store for a new one all the other brands you had to mail back to the factory. Dont know about now but look in the waranties too if it has a lifetime then get that one.

My son works as an electrician and absolutely swears by Dewalt!
Corded or cordless he will not consider anything else.

Ryobi, for the price you can't beat it. I've used mine pretty hard, dropped it, kicked,threw J/K still going strong. 2 batteries and a charger are only like $40. Sawzaw,circular saw and all the other attachments work great also.
I was weary they were cheap but a friend in the remodling biz talked me into it.

I've always thought that the best power tools were Milwaukee... I also have an old Rockwell circular saw which is still going strong but someone told me that Rockwell tools aren't made anymore, but I don't really know...

I have used both dewalt and makita and dewalt is by far better. The only problem Ive had was a bent chuck shaft from a 18' fall off a tele pole.

personally have always used dewalt.....the company I work for only buys rigid.....those are damn good drills as well (and a bit cheaper) I'de say build quality is similar...go with what feels better in your hand (wallet)

I haven't used DeWalt or Rigid, but the Free battery replacement that is being offered sounds good.

Well today I bought the Rigid Kit from H-depot an let me tell you it's a nice kit. First of all being able to fully charge a battery in like 15-20 minutes is awesome. An the power of the saw zaw blows the Dewalt away an the drill is not too shabby either. I would suggest this kit to anyone in the market an as stated above this is really a nice geature of buying the rigid. Just my 2 cents! Of course everyone has there preference.!

Batteries

I would consider the Ridgid for the battery deal. I have thrown big $$ at Milwaukee 18V battery's and they are by far JUNK, sometimes getting only a year of service life at best. We'll see about the new Lithium Ion batteries now. I have too much $$ invested in 18V Milwaukee to go to another brand. I have NEVER broke a drill with Milwaukee and believe most other brands will be just as good.
