Recommended tire pressure for drag strip?

Using G60-15 M&H Racemaster DOT tires. Bias ply tires. No tubes. On 7" wheels.

I tried 26psi, but only managed a high 1.8 sixty foot. How much lower do I need to go?

Probably between 12 and 15 psi. but i never used them, so more opinions may be helpful

I have the same tires and I really like them. They seemed to fit well and they look cool.
My car is a low 13 sec car, when driven properly. I was cutting my best time (1.8x) with a small burnout and 18-20 psi in the tires. I didn't dare to go much lower. I know I could go 1.7x with a good amount of boost and a well prep'd track. With the power your car is making I am sure you could cut low 1.7s.
I would think 26 psi is a little high, try 20 or even a little less and let me know how it works for ya!

Don't worry about going down to 12 psi in the tires, there is no concern with safety. I ran 12 in my ET Streets last time at the track and everything was fine.

You will need to go down below 17 psi to make that tire work like it is designed to. Probably around 12-13psi will work best. They hook good i've tried them before. Frank

Whoopsie, my bad. I saw the G60-15 and assumed we had the same tire. I have the Mickey Thompson bias-ply, non tube type tires. They are probably very similar. Has anybody used both? I hadn't heard much of M&H when I ordered my Mickey Thompsons, but I've been looking through their website

They seem to have some good stuff. Anybody ever used those 265-50-15 drag radials?? I wanted the BFG 275s, but they were just too wide for me to feel good about putting on a 7" wheel. Maybe I'll check out those 265s.
Sorry, on a tangent. Just wanted to let you know that I don't in fact have the EXACT same tire, but I imagine they're close. Good luck.

Tried 18 psi, then 16 psi, then 14 psi at the track during the three runs I made that night. Sixty-foot times ranged from 2.0 to 1.92. The stability at the "big end" really went away at the lower pressures.

I will try more psi and more of a burnout next time. I do not think the car is shocking the tires at all, so the really low pressures are probably not needed until I do.

I had 15psi in the passenger air bag and 5 psi in driver airbag. That seemed awfully stiff to me. Will try 10psi in the passenger side and zero in drivers. Some pressure in the passenger side seems to reduce wheel hop on my GN.

Yeah they get a little hairy sometimes!!! What boost are you launching at? Are you aure the tires are spinning or just a soft launch? Do a good smokey burnout and stage right away, no dry hops and 16psi or lower. Frank
