That was from ME, and I STILL feel this kit would be a great addition to any enthusiast if it didnt use compression fittings. I dont care if the ferrules are strong enough to hold up a 747. you cant control the competence of the installer. If its not quite tight enuf, or its too tight whever, you ARE looking at a failure. I'm sorry you and Bob feel this way. In its present form (if it hasnt been changed, Ron and I dont speak, so I dont know), I STILL insist its dangerous! Especially where a possibly TR-fixably challenged person may be involved.
On the other hand, if the vendor(s) who are getting bashed, took the criticism constructively, and instead of defending a proven error (again, I dont care if these compression fittings will hold up the golden gate bridge) Simply change that particular design. I know why it wasnt, because few people have the proper tools to double flare a brake line. And its those people who SHOULDNT be modifying their brake system to begin with!! You dont screw with the brakes!! If the engine stalls/blows up, who gives a rats pooper, but if you cant stop, people get hurt!
Forget killing yourself...what about the possibility of killing that woman and her child on the road IF and I said
IF these damn things fail!! Wouldjnt it be smart to take the necessary precautions to prevent a tragedy? Do you think GM uses flare fittings because they think theyre pretty????
Other than stuff like this, I have ZERO problems with Ron, I'd honestly like to get along with him. But I cant see it happening when a person sticks to their guns so rigidly, when they are flat out WRONG.
If I'm the a$$hole, so be it. As for buying the products, I did once, but wont do so again. I'll stay my mediocre self, I can live with that
