red lite on dash

thanks in advance...new to the GN. I have an illuminated red light on my dash, just to the left of the rearwindow defogger switch. I checked owners manuel but no help there. Can someone please explain?

Is there any other signs of the car having an aftermarket alarm system?If not it could be to make potential thieves think it has an alarm.
