Relationship between timing & a/f

What relation does a/f and timing have? Say I run 13.0 at idle and if I were to lean it out to 15.0 what would I do to the timing and why? What about when the weather gets warmer or colder how is the timing affected?

Mixtures on the lean side are harder to igniite so it requires more timing. Never saw a relationship between air temps and timing. I suppose if the motor is on the ragged edge of detonation in hot weather under cold conditions timing could be advanced, to where it should be, for more power.
