On the large connector that screws onto the coil pack module is a terminal marked J, the diagram I have shows it as "Fuel Injector timing input". Can someone explain what this does and where does that signal or wire come from? The reason for the question is I am dealing with an old DFI accel system and there is no wire going into this terminal on the coil pack and I am wondering if I need it. My 86 has this wire going somewhere but this engine I am working on does not. This is on a stand and just trying to get this engine running. Thanks for the help.

I had this in the computer /ecm mods forum and decided to move it here.

Thanks salvagev6 but do you know what it does in the ecm? I'm trying to figure out if I need that in my ancient accel dfi system. I don't know if it ever was there or its not needed by the dfi control. Thanks for the help.

According to the service manual, not the wiring diagram, it's the cam. buffered output signal going to the ECM from the module so I have no idea how the fuel injection works on your system or if it's needed?
