My beef with eBay is back a few years ago I could search what all was good for sale by private owners local to me. All i'd have to do was type in my zip code and search a 25 mile radius. I found a few "hidden" gems there.

Now when I try typing in my zip code and doing a 25 mile radius search, every damn car lot, new or used, has their whole damn inventory on there. So now I have to sift thru countless ads just to see if someone has a long lost gem locally for sale.

Also I'm not fond of the idea where now the buyer can leave bad feedback but the seller cannot. So if someone wins my auction and fails to pay up i can't warn other eBayers.

X2 on the local search...

I sell on ebay and it makes me KOOKY especially the questions from Overseas. I have set my account to block overseas buyers yet they keep on bidding.

Used to love Ebay, been on there since 1999. Started selling stuff on there until realizing you were better off having your own website. Fees used to be reasonable, and when Paypal started that was a good deal too. Remember their slogan "Always Free"? They also had promotions where they sent you $25 for recruiting new members.

Hardly ever go on ebay now and haven't listed anything on there in quite a while.

Sort of reminds of the good ol local swap meets. That was the place to go to find vintage parts but now there are usually just rows of crap tools, etc.

This frustrated me too with the 50K ads when I searched "buick grand national" on flea-bay. But on the left hand side you can choose to search "auction only" style listings. That option cuts out all the vendors and items that are only buy it now's (ebay stores).
