So I got in my car this morning and my drivers side mirror was all out of whack, so I just adjusted the mirror with the control inside the car, only to realize that the whole side view mirror housing, not just the glass was out of place.

There is a small dent on the metal mirror housing and the angle of the whole housing is screwed up. So, i presume some idiot ran into the mirror with something, and knocked it all out of whack. I wouldn't think you could make the angle of the mirror housing change without breaking it outright, but the side view seems undamaged, just at an incorrect angle.

Is there a way of adjusting the angle side view housing (maybe it's not called the housing, I'm just trying to differentiate this from the mirror itself). By the way, it has the remote adjustability from the drivers door, maybe they all do, just in case that is important.

Any one else had to deal with this? Ideas?

Thanks

There's not a lot adjustment to the mirrow. Two screws on the inside of the door that holds it in place. Try pulling your door panel, see if you can retighten the screws. It's very hard to get to them with the window in the door. Must likely you will have to pull window. Too bad you could not have caught the a$$ that hit it. Good luck and I hope this helps.

If you feel like removing the mirror, you can check to see if the two torx screws inside the mirror that hold the mirror head to its pedestal are secure. If they are not tight, the mechanism inside the mirror will walk around slightly and the mirror will not stay in place. It only takes about 5-10 minutes to remove the mirror and a torx T20 driver to check the tightness of the screws.

Mirror housing is messed up not the mirror

Hey guys, it is my mirror (housing) that is screwed up not the mirror itself. The actual metal housing that sticks out from the door is at a screwy angle. How do I adjust it, NOT the mirror within the housing.
