This has probably been discussed a hundred times, but I'm a newbie and need some advice. I have heard the only way to change antenna is remove the pass. side fender ?? Has anyone done this and how big of job is it.

Just tape up the door and fender open the door all the way .Go and buy a 10MM swivel gear wrench .It will be worth it
Take all the 10s out of the jam one is holding the antenna with the slotted hole .Also take about half out in the wheel well.
Pull the bottom of the fender out carefully and drop the antenna out after unplugging, attach a wire the the plug to fish the new one up .

X2, tape the fender area, as it is very sharp, when you get the bolts out pull the fender out "easy" and use a piece of wooden block or something to hold the fender open so you can get your hand in there to work.

....and test your replacement/repair before you button the fender back up. Ask me how I learned this. (Forgot to reattach the antenna lead)
