Replacing rear main seal

I did one in my buddy's Turbo T a couple years ago and it was no big deal.

The oil pan came down without having to mess with motor mounts.

Just cleaned everything spotless, pulled the rear main cap, swapped-in a neoprene seal and went back together with it. He put a few years of abuse to it and it never leaked a drop.

It wasn't a bad job at all. :cool:

I was told that the transmission had to be pulled!!

Just the oil pan and rear main cap. :cool:

I can't remember if we pulled the exhaust crossover pipe or not... but I 'sorta think we did. Still an easy job either way.
 
If teh crank hits which it may. Just bar th eengine over a lil to clear the throw thats hitting the pan
