Replacing TH200C with TH200-4R in 85 Cutlass with V8

I am planning on replacing a tired TH200C (that had lockup) with a TH200-4R and putting this a 1985 Cutlass that I will be installing a V8. My question is: Can the trans plug currently in the Cutlass be made to work the overdrive (lockup) in the 200-4R?
