Thanks all,

I think Ill go with the stock timing chain since it is much cheaper and it seems to be the popular replacement.

Scott, hopefully I'll have all the parts we need but I wouldn't be supprised if we have to make a run to the auto store.:)

Well, I went to NAPA and had no trouble with the exception of the rear oil pan seal. I not quite sure what its called. Its not the rear main, is it?

If it has not been mentioned yet, DO NOT FORGET NEW CAM BOLTS. you will need two, GM only.

I did the whole thing a few weeks ago. Rear Main seal, front main seal, timing chain, and a new water pump. Wasn't too hard. My old rear seal was the hardest thing to do. Once you get it out the new one just slides in. I also put a roller cam button in. My front cover had a nice groove in it from the old one.

ONE THING!!!!!!!!

REMEMBER TO PRIME YOUR OIL PUMP!!!!!!!! You will really ruin your motor if you don't!

The GM part number for the Roller Cam Button is 25532588.

I found a box while sweeping out the garage today.

Mechanic who did mine didn't read gnttype.org for oil priming directions. 100 miles later, rebuild was needed.
