Boostmaster are you out there? Whats the skinny on the grudge race you had this weekend? We got rain in Bowling Green and we did not even go to the track. See Ya! John

Yeah, I showed up. The place was packed!!!! I only got 3 runs in but Rob was there with his classic Grand National and we never raced. He wanted t see what it would do on pump gas and street tires. I didn't get to do much tuning and pretty much ran it the way I drove it off the trailer. She ran 12.40's @ 110 on a street chip and 21 psi. with a 1.936 60ft. First pass was against a 2012 Ford Mustang 5.0 GT beat buy a car or 2. Here's how it went......

me - him

R/T - .641 - .621
60' - 1.936 - 2.080
330' - 5.209 - 5.562
1/8 - 7.94 - 8.354
MPH - 88.71 - 85.73
1000 - 10.372 - 10.735
1/4 -12.413 - 12.716
MPH - 110.24 - 113.70

As you can see he was coming but not coming fast enough. The second pass was about the same. The third pass I tried to turn up the boost but when I did I got a backfire and
then some knock. That was my last pass of the day. Got home and checked the car out and my spark plugs wires on the passenger side can't seem to take the heat.

Anyway at least I didn't blow the car up. I'll be ready next season.

I'll probably do some updates during the off season like switching to a hydraulic roller and roller rockers. I might try to get some custom headers made that make the passenger side more accessible. Everything else is good.

Was that with the 4.1 or a different engine? Have you tried the insulators on the spark plug boots on the right side I ve used them for a long time to keep exhaust heat away. I thought you had a roller set up in that engine. Last time out I ran a 120 mph with a 1.63 60 ft and a 7.07 1/8 but still 11.20 in the 1/4 mile. This Sat is Beechbends last week until next year. See Ya! John

John that's the 4.1 and no I never had a roller set up on the car. You forget I have the burgundy 84 and that one has the 3.8 with roller rockers on it. As far as the wires I have tried everything and can't get them to hold up when I try to turn up the boost. Besides I'm just enjoying the car while I can. I have never been a whole season without blowing something so this is a milestone. Your car is running good and I'm sure you'll hit the number soon.

First, THANK YOU for your service and Welcome home:D. I guess you are not rusty:eek:. Once you sort out your wire issue, we can expect you to get in the 11's.

Thanks Chuck, I few years back I ran 114mph but traction was an issue as always. So the power is there . Now tat I got a little more time I can get back into it.

How far do you think you can "push" the 4.1? I know your low end is incredible.... to say the least... You probably will have to get slicks if you do not have them. That 4.1 has SO, SO much torque down low... Take your time my friend... I think you and John, both will be pulling into the 10's in 2014.. if not sooner...
