Well, I had a chance to drive the Alcoholic Twins today. The exhaust does have the typical 2,000 rpm drone. It makes 20 psi boost with ease. It doesn't like 20 psi with the current tune-up. I was running 10.2:1 A/F ratio at anything over 1/4 throttle, and the timing is set at 22*@WOT. The boost is still a little lazy if I roll the throttle on at low RPM in 2nd gear. At 15 psi the car runs HARD!
I need to get the car on a dyno and I am working on that for early next month. I really don't like tuning on the street. The local lawmen FROWN on that, and there's just too many people to do it safely. (I know, I know..........I'm getting OLD!) The wastegate dumps into the open and I NEED to fix that. I have all the parts/pieces to do it, but I need to pay attention to some other projects for the next few days. I'll drive it around, though, and start playing with the MAF-Pro to get it to run better. I'll also fill the tank with C-16 to cover my butt untill I get the Alky system dialed in on pump gas. The Alky system seemed to work great, in that it didn't flood the motor like Katrina. So, six .014" nozzles aren't too big to work. I was kinda worried that they might flood the engine. The car will idle with just the alky nozzles and the fuel injectors un-plugged. There is alot of potential with the methanol system. I just need to creep up on it so as not to melt it down
I'll have to swing by Geno's shop tomarrow to give him a ride in it. (seeing how I owe him a skid mark in HIS shorts after he gave me a ride in his car
) I'll keep everyone posted on the tuning process, if your interested.
