I have a pretty steep drop off in my back yard and I want to build a retaining wall. I haven't looked around for info yet, but was wondering if someone could point me towards some good sources of info.

TIA

Ron

Sounds like you will need Lots rebarb wire & lots of blocks.

Yeah that DO IT YOURSELF .com is cool. I just added a big landing & step to my back yard..

I mixed about 1k lbs of concrete for the project.

I am on the veneering part as we speak.

Yeah, my front stairs are a project waiting to be done. The previous owners had painted them white but they have started peeling and they are real slippery in the winter. Ask my butt about that.:D

Powerwashed the majority of the paint off and will probably Zip Strip the rest off. Just not sure what to redo them with. Quikrete has a new product to refinish concrete and I might try that. Don't want to repaint them though so will probably retain the natural concrete look unless there is some miracle paint that will hold up to being outside and can stand being treated with ice melt in the winter.

Mark for the steps & landing you could use the 1/2 brick pavers.
They also make a white stucco mix for the riser & side walls.

I think I am going this route.
