My son was looking for another Revell Monogram 87 GN model this week, they had been plentiful at Walmart, etc. This week couldn't find any of the stores with one. I called Revell and found out it has been discontinued. They are releasing a new version of the 87 GN in July. It will be named "Donks" 87 GN(no idea what braino named it that!). It will have the option of leaving it stock or you can bling it up with the bigger wheels/tires/accessories. So if you are looking for the old version, you better scoop 'em up!

What a shame. The word "donk" is slang that the urban types use for those God awful cars jacked up on 24-30" wheels. Short for "old donkey a$$ car".

I have a Monogram High Performance Series GNX still in the box. Date on the directions is 1988.

Wonder if they still make this one?

Anyway, seems to me there were two diff ones with slight differences on the exterior of the box. Mine is 85-2497

Yes, There were slightly different exterior boxes, one back of box was plain, the other looks like a strip of paved street. My son found the new "Donks Gn" , they are now in hobby shops and Walmarts around.....everybody have fun blinging up the new models, the new models don't have intercooled emblems with them either, just plain GN.

Seems like I remember some differences in text also (could be wrong) but it doesnt matter that much to me... I had purchased two keeping this one unopened.

Now look at it:

Grrr... shipped it with some other belongings overseas and this is how it turned out. I Dont *think* there is any damage to the parts but if I ever open it and there IS damage I'll build a "wrecked" GN.

I had a GNX model from the late '80s or so. I blew it to hell with firecrackers. :(

Cheryl: there are about 3 or 4 hobby shops in my area I can check for you, if I have any success I'll bring them to grill 57 on Sat.

Thanks Kevin, but Korey has already monopolized the market up here, I think he's bought 4 already! He bought out Walmart's supply, and only left 1 on the floor at the hobby shop! See ya Saturday, Pat may be riding with me if he doesn't have his wheels back on the car
