Just had my 200-4R rebuilt w/ tran brake. I now experience intermitent difficulty in backing up. Almost as if the emergency brake was on, while at other times it backs up fine. Any one have similar problems and fix?

whose brake is it?you have the direct clutches coming on.there is a misbuild or cross leak.

brake

I/ll jump in as I assembled the unit. It is a Lonnie Dyer electric brake. We will be checking the linkage adj. as it has an after market shifter. Also the rear brakes before dropping the pan. I talked to Lonnie but he has not had that problem. I am open to suggestions.
BTW, the brake holds as it should and all forward shifts are perfect. Just the intermitten hard to back up. Have not put a heavy load on the brake as everything is fresh. (eng and trans)

Chris---?

Got the trans fixed. Had a scarf cut sealing ring sheared into on the forward drum shaft. The outer most one or the one closest to the spline. Also had an out of round billet forward drum.(.020)
I posted a ? recently as to what other clutches are applied when the trans is in reverse. The only reply I got said that the directs are on when in reverse.
Which has me confused as Chis said that was the problem. Did you mean Forwards were coming on and they should not. Thanks
