So with the Z06 and 4" pipe, Are you guys see an increase in boost without changing anything?

not sure, i added the pipe along with the PT 67/76 that has a 4inch inlet

IM not sure on the updated z06 part number

my boost increased by two psi and i didnt have to get the angle fitting for the IAC

also there are bunch of ebay stores that care the delphi sensors new for about 50 dollars but they claim that some of the screens on the mafs have some imperfections..but have no ill effect on the way they function, just cosmetic

I read here on the forum (several months ago) that they quit selling them. They are no longer listed on their site, as I guess you know by now. Only sure way to find out is to ask them.

Z06 MAF Adapter Harness

I am about to install my 85mm Z06 LS6 Maf and have purchased Caspers #108100 LS1 5in to 3pin MAF Adapter Harness with Air Temp.

The 3pin adapter (female) on Caspers MAF Adapter Harness is a different shape than the 3 pin (male) one in my cars wiring harness. Have I orderd the wrong Caspers Adapter Harness?
If anyone has installed this harness on their car & can help me, I would appreciate your assistance.

Thanks,

dave

is the plug different on the regular translator vrs the genII ?

I noticed a pretty big difference going from stock MAF & 3" pipe to a 4" cold air kit and LS1 MAF. Nothing measured at the dragstrip, just my butt dyno.

Personally, I don't know how anyone can stand the crappy unreliable stock MAF sensors anyway. If you already have a Z06 MAF, you might as well use it.

I was actually thinking about upgrading my 3.5" LS1 unit to the bigger 4" Z06 unit.

The Z06 MAF actually measures about 3.75 on one side, and you have to get the appropriate rubber coupler for it to work correctly, FYI. Make sure you measure both sides before you order your couples, or you will be buying again. :)

edit-already covered, I see. Just didn't want someone wasting money like I did.

5pin to 3 pin Z06 MAF Adapter Harness

Thanks for the tip....but I've already ordered the correct 4" x 3.75" Silicone Cplg ahead of time . I've got a 3.5" MAF Pipe, so will be using my existing 3.5" Silicone Cplg on other side of MAF...seems to fit fine.

I'n not running the basic MAF translator.....but a GenII MAF Translator.

Not sure (as I installed the GenII over a yr ago), but I believe the only conections between the GenII are at the ECM and so it uses the existing connector for the MAF that is contained in the factory buick wiring harness.
Although it is a 3 pin male connector, it is a slightly different shape vs the female connector thats provided on Caspers' #108100 3pin to 5pin MAF Adapt Harness. This anf the IAT connector look different vs the picuture of whats shown on the Caspers web site for this paet number.

The 5pin plug on Caspers adapter harness does fit the Z06 Maf though.

Will let you know how I resolve this issue.

Thanks to all for your suggestions.

Z06 MAF Finally Installed

Got the Z06 85mm MAF installed tonight.....the problem I was having not being able to hook up Caspers Adapter Harness was because for my set up, I needed a GN female connector on it to be able to hook up to the factory buick male MAF plug. Caspers 5pin to 3pin maf adapter uses a late model GM 3pin female connector which doesn't match up to the 3pin GN connector used on the cars harness....it's a slightly different shape.

The solution was to use my MAF adapter harness which was already on the car. I was using a 3.5" LS1 MAF and had previously purchased a 3pin late model GM to 3pin GN maf adapter harness from Full Throttle. So, just plugged this into caspers harness and voila! fits like a glove.

After changing the maf input to LS6/85mm on the GENII.....car fired right up and runs great. Took it for a boot around the block and checked all the vitals on the SM which are good.

The only connections with the GENII Translator are between it & the ECU (Unlike the basic Translator or Translator Plus as I understand).

The GENII is not under the hood but inside the car in my glove box. I used caspers' plug n play harness, so no wires were cut and can change back to stock (if you'd ever want to do that)?
With the GENII Translator, you use the factory connector to the MAF....that's why I had a problem initially not being able to plug into Caspers maf harness adapter.

The really neat thing about this set up is I'm using the built in IAT feature of the Z06 MAF as the Caspers harness #108100 allows the IAT connector to plug directly into this......getting rid of one more sensor.

Will post some pictures later.

Here's my Z06 setup. 6262bb turbo, 4" MAF pipe, Z06 sensor to our new style cold air kit that goes thru the fenderwell.

Got the MAF on ebay for $42.95 and $8.50 shipping but they have since upped the price to $54.95 Just had a couple of VERY minor dings in the screen. I have tested it up to 130mph without any problems! NEW 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 CHEVY CORVETTE MASS AIR FLOW:eBay Motors (item 110414045696 end time Sep-12-09 23:52:11 PDT)

Got the harness from Home » Shop » Connectors, Kits, and Harnesses » All Pigtails and Harnesses » GM Delphi / Packard - LS2 MAF to LS1, LT1, truck MAF adapter harness with IAT and it plugged right into the harness I was already using with the LS1 sensor.
