Contemplating taking the 10 sec 130+ mph THS car on a 1600 mile 3 day road trip in race tune (I run alky of course). Instead of flying for a business meeting, driving the T would be good clean fun. Thoughts?

Sounds great. I've backed out of a couple of road trips because I'm worried about how to secure the car at hotels...it sucks that it affects my ability to enjoy the car.

I'm in the same boat. My tr's are of show quality and always attract attention; sadly, with these cars it's not the right kind of attention. I only take mine out when I will be around (like car shows and cruise ins or hanging out with Buick folk. Don't think I could sleep knowing my car is outside the hotel...

There's others on here that drive them daily--- Maybe they'll chime in....

BTW, do you have regular or classic insurance? If you have classic, you might be prevented from taking it on a trip where it cannot be secured.

- Just something to think about...

Sounds like it would be fun though.

My GN has a viper alarm and it's a pretty good system...friend of mine has a system that needs a computer to release the invisible fence
that alarms if the car is moved, and you can shut the car off remotely if moved and it has GPS tracking. Seems to me if you're that worried about having the car stolen,
I'd look into some of the new technologies that are available....take that road trip, they're fun......I drive mine daily, and haven't experienced any problems.... knock wood :)

I'll use a spare iPhone as the gps locator and I always pull a bunch of necessary wires and parts n stuff when I take my car out to the store even when its in sight 99% of the time. Takes me 15 minutes to leave my car for a 5 minute parts run. My client probably has secure overnight parking and I'll use a cab to the hotel, or maybe I'll just sleep in the backseat with my .45. I've slept in the back of my Z06 with my .45 Colt overnight before, yeah I'm that guy. I might even have enterprise deliver me a rental car so I can block the T in at the hotel.

grey racer: the problem with locating with all the new tech out there is that it has to be stolen before it can be relocated. I'm not interested in recovering a car that has been trashed and abused by a thief. My preference would be no theft ever.... It's happened to me once... Never again.

turboTnZ06: Sir, I like your style.
