I'm ordering a few things from rock auto to help get my buddy's 2002 Jeep Liberty up and running so he can get back to work. I was also going to grab an ignition module for my GN as a spare. They have several listed there, anyone have any luck with them? Any to stay away from?

Just a suggestion for you.

Here is what i did. I bought an Autozone duralast ignition module part # DR143 for $105.99 with a lifetime warranty. Then i bought an (BWD) Borg Warner Div. ignition coil part # E45 for $68.99 with a lifetime warranty from O'Reilly auto parts. I installed these and use the old ones that i know are good as spares.

Quick look at what they show available, personally i'd go with the Standard LX338 and not the T series. I'd bet those $8 ones aren't the right part, they show that they also fit 81-82 era stuff. OLD stock of delco is probably best, the newer ones are probably made at the same plant as the standard or the wells, etc.

I originally bought the LX338 from Rock Auto. But after looking at their website I contacted them directly because the LX338T was the only Standard that showed supported vin 7. So they looked it up and said the same. LX338T is what I bought and works.
Their website may be incorrect, but wanted to be sure I got the one for vin 7.

great thanks guys. I was worried about getting a module that might not support the tach signal. Just looking to have a spare available in case I ever need it. Will prob put on the new one and keep the old as the spare.
