Rocker Arm Assbly

One of my Retainers came off yesterday, and I was wondering, while there dosnt seem to be any damage to the rocker itself or the pushrod, should i take the assbly off to put the rocker back on?, right now it slips on without a problem with very little play up/down. Also do these retainers just push into the arm?
Any help would be appreciated.
