Is it possible to put the rods in a 109 wrong. I just got a short block back that was just cleaned up ( slight rust in the bore) from sitting without heads unprotected and new bearings installed. I don't hear the knock at idle but as soon as the rpm's increase the neighbor's can hear it. It is coming out tonight!

Yes. It is possible to screw ANYTHING up, given enough time.;)

The rods must be intalled with the right offset, in the correct position. The rod bearings must also be installed on the right sized journal. What bearing clearance did you build to? What pistons? What rods? What size journal? What size bearings? What torque?............................
