rotor phasing

After a year on the engine stand I decided to go racing by the end of the year.My question is rotor phasing.Do you set it up to either 50 or 60 deg BTDC with the rotor toward # 1,or is it that you set the rotor at #1 at 25deg TDC then set the reluctor at either 50-60deg BTdc.

I haven`t done it in a while. so i need my old memory refreshed.
