So has anyone dealt with a rounded head on the Torque converter to Flex Plate bolts. Anyone have any tips on dealing with it.

I was thinking of w approaches.

1) Drive the next size smaller Impact socket over the bolt head and try the impact gun

2) Bite the bullet and go buy a set of the snap on bolt removers

get a chisel and smack it with a hammer or use an air chisel to loosen it.

Chris,

Do you know if GM used any threadlocker on those bolts. The tranny has never been out of this car. So anything they put will still be there. My SOP in dealing with GM threadlocker is to apply the hot wrench but that seems like a bad idea on the converter shell.

They use something on the bolts but it should have easily broken free with a 6 point 15mm wrench and a smack from a ford wrench (hammer). The air chisel should work. You could weld a nut on there if you have a MIG welder and turn it out easily.

Thanks Bison, I do have a mig and had forgotten about that little trick
