Hey guys, anyone have a problem with their original tachs?? mine is lit up like a xmas tree. Are there problems with the tach itself or even better where does it pick up stock signal from? Any help would be appreciated, car runs like a champ after finally figuring out that the chip went bad JEGS crap I guess.

Check test port plugs behind alternator.they shouldn't be used.only for testing tach and fuel pump signal.....hope that's it.

What you're describing is typical. It has to do with the corrosion of the electronics behind on the board. Caspers electronics can sell you a remanned one for around $100 + your old one. Or just ignore it and spend your $ on a new Autometer. I don't think the stock tachs were ever accurate.

Make sure the two plugs are not connected. Search the archives I know there are some threads with pictures in them to help you out.
If they are not, Caspers Electronics can repair the tac.
