ok I did the T.v cable set procedure where i press the D tab and pull the cable housing all the way back. Then go WOT with the throttle cable linkage at the TB. Shifts got firmer, which I like.
Went out for a test drive and at normal driving the car likes to get out of first at 18 mph at 2250 rpms. Is this good/normal or too high of a shift point? this is not at WOT, just normal driving.

Fine...
The higher tv you can run and be comfortable is the point at which is ideal. :)

Not enough or Too low could be a problem....:(

If I may add

As long as you`re still getting full WOT & not bending brackets or linkage.

Jim

When you go WOT to ratchet the cable, will it make a difference if you do it at the TB or gas pedal?

It can cause it can click too far. If you have two people that is the way to do it. (gas pedal)
If not do it at tb .

ok since I was alone, I did it at the TB. I just held the cable housing towards the firewall and rotated the TB to WOT. I've yet to go for a test drive. I'll post back and let you know how the shifting went.

K went for a test drive. Normal driving no WOT. 1st to 2nd shift happened at around 17-18 mph and at 2350 rpm. Should I move the cable housing forward just a tiny bit?

What about you guys? What mph and rpm's does your car like to shift at during NORMAL driving(not WOT)?

went out for another test drive and at half throttle, the car shifts pretty hard but not really hard. Just that i dont feel comfortable when it shifts that hard. should I just move the cable forward a little?

Does it bark the tires when it shifts? !/2 throttle, good firm shift probably would. If you got max tv at WOT should be good.

Jim

well it does bark them at WOT but not at 1/2 throttle. Just a good firm shift, sort of head snapping but definitely not a soft shift. WHen i had the cable housing pulled back all the way, then test drove it the car would feel like hanging at the top of say 1st gear unless i let go of the gas a little, then thats when it would shift. Think I'll move the cable forward a couple of clicks.

Tried E-mailing you on this, but it bounced.

I'm experiencing about the same thing. A high-ish part-throttle 1-2 shift point.

How did the 1 or 2 clicks work out for you ?
