Running hard!

At about 75 mph the car its just about red lining and running hard could this be because of the turbo? For the fact that my boost gauge doesn't work anymore and when I push the pdeal to the floor the turbo make a metal to metal click clackin sound. So I'm guessin the turbo is out. So could that be y the car is running like that?

I had one that had a similar problem and yes the turbo was shot. It was so worn out that it wasn't turning at all until wide open throtle and then the turbo fins would just kind of flop around and make an aweful noise. Pull the turbo and inspect it for shaft play. If the shaft moves a great deal wheather it spins freely or not could be your problem. It is probably binding the fins against the housing not allowing it to spin freely. On another note is your car in overdrive when it redlines at 75? Sounds like alot of RPMs for just 75.

Turbo probably needs to be rebuild. The bad turbo will not affect your cruise rpm.
Ignore the dash lights and get a scantool or real RPM gauge if you want to know the “real RPM”.

No its not in overdrive... and I fixed the turbo gauge it was the vaccum hose to the map sensor that got burnt by the turbo... but it shifts well until it get to about 55mph then it dnt shift and redline and runs tuff at 75mph... how many lines does it suppose to have when the car idles? Mines idle at 6 lines.
