Running hot intercooler fan?

Just bought an 87 turbo t. Has an aluminum radiator with a high flow fan in engine. Runs pretty hot during the day with no a/c. 220-230ish. The other day I got boiling coolant into the overflow. Mounted the stock fan in front of the condensor yesterday and it dropped a little bit but not much. If I keep the heat on the car will stay a little below 200F. I noticed the car is missing the I/C fan. Will this affect cooling or is my problem somewhere else?

Yeah- the I/C fan only pulls air through the I/C(but: it's nice to have it on there), which is separated from the radiator by the shroud, etc. Find a 160 degree thermostat from Kirbans, Postons, or maybe GM still has 'em. I don't know if any of the auto parts houses carry them.

Does this have a front mount intercooler? If not, sounds like the radiator is clogged or your fan isn't even working. These cars aren't hard to keep running cool unless there's a big malfunction. I don't even run the intercooler fan.
