Finally got the car running, here's the problem..... Car is idiling very well at about 750-800 rpm. When I take the car for a drive it doesn't run bad if I go real easy on the gas. Any more than that the car stumbles, tons of black smoke out the pipes. I can only get about 7-8 pounds of boost . I have checked everything I can think of......blm's are at 146 at idile. Almost like the timing is off.....I dont know set the cam sensor again...same results. Could this be an internal engine problem....springs, stuck lifter, or a timing chain????? Hate to tear into it, if I dont have to. Heres what I've checked..... New cam, crank, tps, o2 sensors, new fuel filter, new coil, moduale, plugs and wires, new Maf. I dont what to do now...Please help!!!! Thanks, Dave

You have a large vacumn leak somewhere, blm 140's, the black smoke is from the ecm dumping fuel in trying to compensate. Blm's should be between low 120's to low 130's on a descent running car with a measurement of 128 as optimal.

would a vaccum leak cause the car to bad all the time(idle, midrange and WOT)???? I have read posts where people have high blm's at idle, but otherwise the car runs well. I cant seem to find a leak anywhere, exhaust all looks good to. Is there suppose to be a Gasget or seal where the turbo goes into the intake???? I would think so, but mine doesn't. I have tried to wrap this with material, just to check if it changed the blm's on my t-link. Still no change.....Dont know where elso to look...... Thanks,DAve

running bad

try changing your computer chip thats how i got mine to stop blowing black smoke and it run a whole lot better

just put a brand new factory chip in, no help. Should I try a turbo tweak chip??? Car is all stock right now, wanting to upgrade after I know everything is working properly. Dave

I suspect a vacuum leak by the turbo. Buy a can of carburator cleaner and put on the red pipe. Start the car and let it idle. Spray the carburator cleaner on all vacuum lines and especially around the mount where the turbo goes onto the intake. Any idle change at all will show a vacuum leak because the car is intaking the carb cleaner and the ecm is reacting to it. I know this because a bolt which holds the turbo on blew out. Good luck- Brad
