Without picking sides, they both do what they are supposed to do.

Just comes down to personal preference.

Two different approaches to putting a liquid into your motor.

Its an indirect question to which I wont debate on this forum. I already got into an issue similar to this one months ago with Steve, and we both wont split nails on a message board. You have your reading to do, and questions to ask.

Do your homework before purchasing. It will allow you to be at ease with your decisions. At least for me it does :)

Peace.. and thanks for the support guys..

1st of all view the polls, 2nd ITs Razors(alkycontrol) for me, I had a SMC-lost a motor due to pump failure. I now have the Alkycontrol Progressive kit & the way it works, quality of components, & reliabilty is awesome-Most of all is Julio's sincere & knowledgeable support!!!

alkycontrol is the only way to go, if you love your car the way the rest of us do razor's kit is the only way to go!!!!!!!!!!!
best pump, best controller there is around, thanks JD

I have installed about 10 SMC units up to now with excellent results & vender support. Of course once in awhile a problem may occur like a bad pump. But I have to wonder if proper application of recommended lubricant was used.

DIY is great, especially as far as a learning stand point is concerned, I am glad I dove into alky/water injection this way. I love putting things together myself. However, I am smart enough to realize and acknowledge when there is just something hands down better out there that will accomplish everything Im trying to do and then some, lacking only the hassles. That would be Razor's [Alkycontrol] progressive setup. Although I was fairly successful with my setup (especially for what it consisted of) I just knew it came time to revamp with the arrival of the progressive controller. A handful of us discussed the need of this ability on this board long ago. Before I knew it, forget the talk, someone [Julio] did it. Its probably the best upgrade Ive added.

I have seen the SMC kit, but never owned one. It improved greatly on the early-subpar alky kit(s) and made alky more attainable to those who werent able to, or just didnt want to, piece together there own setups. SMC definately made its mark. IMHO Julio aka Razor from there just hands down brought the alky spray technology leaps forward. Not just the progressive controller but the quality/superiority of parts, and of course great service/support. I must give props where they are due.

Ummm, there are/were people running high boost high timing and methanol years ago without progressive controllers. :)

Back to marketing 101. ;)

And for years they were complaining of transitional knock, surging, poor performance, drivability, tuning, etc. Or its only good in two modes.. full throttle or not.

Yep marketing..

So why dont you post pictures of your alcohol system salvageV6 so we all can see how its done... I'm curious.. I remember a black painted bottle with peeling paint in an engine compartment.

And post some current time slips to backup your claims.. I mean with that huge ball bearing turbo you run.. it ought to go 9's  .. i'll be waiting..

I'll show you mine, you show me yours. Put up or shhhhhh :D walk the walk..talk the talk

7.3 at 98.4 last week.. did 120.7 at a Buick event two weeks ago ..on a bone stock IC, radials, and a PT51 turbo
and a full tank of straight 93 octane with no race gas mix.

I will defend my system. I do take great pride in what I do.

Exactly! having alky come in earlier to combat transitional knock, but having to deal with running pig rich early on when it does because it comes in at only one speed [full blast] in now a thing of the past. This progressive technology is exactly what I envisioned for my intercooler deprived TR long ago. Coming in as low as 2psi.... it is my intercooler of sorts :) . No need to take the defensive Julio, just keep up the good work. Your product speaks for itself and through a growing customer base which obviously seems to be quite satisfied. Proof is in the puddin' as they say ;) .

I'd have to agree...valid point. After all, years ago folks were traveling in horse-drawn buggies...we don't need no stinkin' evolution. :D

Yeah, but they were rocket scientists :D and you know who you are. We needed high boost and high timing for the common man. :yup:............now we got it!

PS........Know anyplace I can get some good pump lubricant? :p
