How do you get the hood up on a Buick LeSabre when it will not release to the safety catch?

Can you hear the hood unlocking when you pull the release?

It might be a two person job...One person needs to push the hood down while the other pulls the release. It sounds simple enough.. I had the same problem on one of my older Chevy truck. Once you have it open, the hood or the lock might have to be readjusted..
