I'm thinking of spending no more the 50k in my build. I want to stay 3.8 and turbo but I would stroke if I have too. I'm just a noob when it comes to turbo and 6 bangers.
I will be doing some shopping and lots of reading on here. I want to have a 9 second time slip by july 4th.
Wow ! thats an aggressive build schedule, 4 months.
Most machine shops have at least a few month turn around on a fresh build, I'm also assuming that you will be adding a cage to it,possibly notching frame for bigger tire, beefing up fuel system, suspension, rear, etc.
In your first post you said if there is anything you should know or do, to let you know so here are a couple suggestions.
Make sure whoever builds it for you is VERY familiar with building Turbo Buicks ,it's important on a stock motored TR build but especially on a low 9 second build, these cars are their own breed and really need a Turbo Buick specialist not just for the machining and assembly but also on the Tune, which is especially important on these cars because of the high boost you will be running for low 9's. A bad tune can destroy a boosted motor real quick.
Since your budget allows for it,i'll point you towards what i, and probably most people with the same budget would be using for their low 9 second race build.
Here is the link for the T/A block, they also have the rotating assemblies ,heads, intake etc. etc. for 1 stop shopping for big hp applications.

Here is a link to probably the best builder for this motor if you decide to go this route.
I'm sure if you do a search there is alot more threads about it also.

One other thing to think about is whether you are going to use the stock computer or go with xfi or some other stand alone setup.
Good Luck and keep us posted on the progress.
