I read an article...think it was in the last GM High Tech about TR's and one of the tips mainly for holding boost on the line was to lightly sand brake drums after they had been turned...I want to do this on some aluminum drums I just put on...the article said to sand in a circular motion...not sure what it means...do I sand in a circular motion across the drum surface?

yep, across the brake pad surface so the little ridges dig into the shoes.. Parallel with the axle..

ks:cool:

Anyone had different results using aluminum vs. cast drums?? I know it's a lighter turning mass, but any real results? Thanks

From time to time I also like to use sand paper to knock off the glaze on the shoes and drive for a few days then set the rear shoes to get a good wear pattern and pedal to hold boost with since I don't have a perfect feel when guessing drag when turning the entire posi when setting the clearence.
