We were coming back from a race last night and this cool looking Corvette comes rolling behind me on the highway (cruising about 70 mph on I-80 coming back from Ohio). As it starts to pass me, I noticed the ram air hood and a bunch of decals on the sides of the car. It passed me and it didn't want to tangle with me at all. I guess he thought my GN looked intimidating  I wanted to run him so bad but I knew I would get beat because I was only on 93 pump gas and 18 lbs of boost. Cool looking car. Are those things for real? I heard like mid 11's in factory stock condition and 505 hp.

It's still a Z06... Maybe you got the "7" confused cause it has a 427 LS7 motor?? ;)

First dyno results i have seen were just under 450 rwhp.

First 1/4 mile times are mid 11's at 124.

Looks pretty real to me.

They seem to be pretty common around here (Fenton MI) Of course the proving grounds are just down the road and we have a bunch of GM emgineers and a Car and Driver hack in the neighborhood. At the big cruise in Milford this summer we had 3 of them plus a bunch of Rousch Mustangs and some other stuff that was not for sale yet.

They are for real. When GM tested them in Germany it set the second fastest time ever for a production car on the Neuremburg (sp?) track.

Put a Ford 9" in the back and slap a 250 shot of NO2 and you could have some fun :D

Motor Trend got an 11.5 at 127mph out of one. They are fo real!! Air filter, and some slicks and its probably a 10 second ride with a factory warranty

It was just bar talk, but I heard that long tubes are good for 70 HP on that beast. And that 505 HP is based on the new "standard" (per EPA, I think) that is supposed to eliminate any factory shenanigans with the numbers.

Stock 2003 (and maybe other years) Z06 was good for high 11's and 12.0's.

Probably could get an extra couple tenths with someone that can master the M6.

Tom

I think Chow might pick one of these as soon as he makes some room.
This one I will drive, I passed on the 03!!!

the short story on that vid is they are both sick cars... the Nitrous stopped flowing for the LS1 on the first run. Its a big cammed 200 shot car, and the Z was pushing a 150 shot and ended up hurting the car on that pass as the tune was probably a tad off being there is not LS7 edit. apparently a plug was missing the electrode. these cars are gonna be no joke

What do you think these cars are running in the 1/4 ? Slicks and low 10's??

i would say mid 10s at least, with traps well above 130 for both
