Ok maybe not scammed but, no hold up, yeah i think i was scammed! i asked him are they in working condition. he said yes, and all I get is damn shells of the shifters. thats bull****! How do shifter shells work?!
I told him that I wanted my money back because they are not in working condition. He replied that he has been selling crap here for 10 years and would not try to pull a fast one on anybody. Well buddy you certainly have but thanks and you can keep the frieken money hope your GN breaks down in the middle of the Texas desert you prick! sorry just had to air this out.
Does G-body or any other vendor sell you just the shell of a shifter? Thank you for your polls.
We sell just the bare handles as they do get wear in the outer shell or crack near the shifetr rod which allows them to become loose. We also spent a lot of time manufacturing the discontinued parts in aluminum like:
The outer shifter rings
The slider button
The J-rod adjuster
The internal spring & black knobs you can still get from GM as well as the horse shoe clips.
Ediberto diaz you really need to post how much you paid for the parts & what your original agreement was. Was it the shifter, shifter handle or both?
If you get a good used handle for $20 shipped more then likely your getting a bare handle or parts missing. Now if you paid $35.00 & shipping it should be mint as you can buy a new bare handle for $32.00 from us & other vendors.
Like the old saying goes if it is too good to be true.
I think some other vendors can say the same thing when it comes to used parts. Lately a lot of customers want parts cheaper then we sold them 10 years ago for. As a vendor you have prices in your head you have been selling parts for. So when some on asks James for a good used complete shifter he may say $100. While the customer is thinking I only need the handle & this guy is way out of line. James may be thinking shifter & handle?
James I'm using you for an example. I could say Mike but he has enough going on

Then you get the other customer who realizes he really needs the cables, brackets etc to convert to a floor shifter & comes back & states I thought I was getting the complete shifter with complete console, cable, brackets, & everything I needed for a complete floor shifter.
I've learned from past experiences I have to really ask what exactly are you doing & what do you need? Why do you need this? I haved saved people $ that complain that the shifter moves with out pushing the button. Then explained how the J rod adjuster works & we don't sell anything.
Then on the the other hand you do a package deal for a customer who is converting from column shift to a floor shift. Last week I had 1 customer buy 2 complete conversions for both of his cars.
It takes communications on both sides. To the buyer it takes some looking around to see what prices things are selling for as well. I'm guilty of not asking enough questions some times as well.
I'm no way pointing fingers at the OP but just stating some basic facts that need to be in your post. To answer your question shifter shells do crack in the base. An uncracked shifter handle bare could be a working shifter handle. Did you ask is it complete with all hardware? What did you pay for it?
