What port on the diognostics plug is the white wire for the scanmaster supposed to plug into? i believe it is the second from the left on the top row. thanks.

thats looking from the front- if your looking from the back it would be 2nd top from the right

ok thats where it is and it doesnt work. it comes on and says 2.0 then shuts off in like 2 seconds. ???????????????????

that pin in the ALDL connector is fed with an orange wire from the ECM (if I remeber correctly)

The Scanmasters have been amazingly reliable over the years. I'm sure its in the install or your ECM.

Your key is on, Check engine light is on, right?

You can test the Scanmaster by touching the white wire to ground a couple times and see if it wakes up....

I have seen a couple ECM's over the years that had dead ALDL outputs as well.
