I ordered my Scanmaster from Ramchargers on Monday and got it yesterday.
Looks like a pretty simple install...any little hints or tricks? I'll probably put it in tonight, fix the kink in my fuel line and run the car for a day or two. Then I'll put in the Thrasher, 237 and test pipe.

Hints and tips?
Ok here goes. Mount it on top of the dash pad in plain view while driving. I like to place it as close to the Boost gauge as possible for ease of view when making a pass. Very crucial when tuning and watching for detonation. Velcro works well here. Also, you might want to get a cigarette power plug from your local Radio Shack to take care of the power and ground wires. This also facilitates easy R&R for tuning other cars, or your buddies Turbo Buick. If not cigarette plug, then power to an ignition port on the fuse box, this way, the SM always powers up when you hit the key. Ground wire can be mounted either to factory chassis ground points next to the fuse box, or to the stud that's near the fuse box light under the dash. The stud that has the nut on it for the under dash panel. I've always used that stud on every SM I've done in the past with good results. The wire for the ALDL connector takes either the really thin male connector, (also available from Radio Shack) or you can take a standard flat male connector and cut it in half for a tighter fit in the ALDL connector.
IMHO, the SM is the best money you can spend on the car to start with. Ranks right up there with the fuel system parts.
Anywho, hope some of this helps a little.

CAN YOU READ SCHEMATICS?
Meaning...what?
I'm not asking how to install it, I'm asking if anybody has any little tricks for the install. <see above>

RUQWKNF,
Thanks...I think I'll just wire it up to the lighter as you suggested. Then I can pull it out of the car if necessary.

I went to the local discount auto parts and bought the trailer connector package for 6 clams. I "mounted" the connector under the dash next to the ALDL. This way I have a quick disconnect and it looks pretty clean (and weatherproof too! j/k).

I would have preferred a standard connector, but couldn't find one after stopping at 3 different stores.

I took the gauge cluster off and ran the wires down behind the cluster and into the fuse box and aldl. If you use the cigarette lighter setup, then everybody will want to borrow it. ;)
