I just swap to a 400 and it does not have a speedo hookup yet. Does this mess with any setting in the SD2 chip? What does it affect other then me not knowing my MPH?

just the tcc control, which you don't care about....

there is some coast-down idle stuff in the idle control logic, but I have never heard of it causing an issue when there is no speedo signal.

Bob, I have the speed of hooked up and working. Will this have an effect on the SD2?

Converter lockup
low/high gear timing
knock retard ignore <---- This is important! Check the setting.

Okay so will it just be on the low gear timing all the time? Can I change it to go off the spark table?

The knock ignore setting is up to user. If you have no mph reading, then you could set it to zero to turn if off. Or you could switch to time based knock ignore. (See the instructions)

For spark advance, if MPH is zero, it will always add 2 degrees since it thinks its in low gear. There is no way to fix that other than to subtract 2 degrees from the main table.
