Just wondering what your opinions are.

I bought this t-type it sat outside with no motor for a while the trans was still in the car & the converter was on the trans.
I about ready to put the motor in.
Should I change the seal before I drop in the motor?
Just wondering if the weather could have damaged the seal dryrotted it of whatever while it was outside for 6 months.
I know the saying if it aint broke dont fix it, I just don't feel like pulling the trans to fix the seal if it leaks.
Leave it alone or change it? Thanks

preventative maintenance

Nash, now would be the time to replace the front seal as well as the o-ring on the input shaft. It's much more time and cost effective now, rather than have to pull the trans out soon to replace them. You should also check the seals on the trans to make sure they are fresh and not leaking either. Mark

How hard is it to do? Does it pull right out & push back in?
I have never done one so I am not sure, do I need ant special tools? Any tips so I only have to do this once would be great!

Thanks for the help:)

Should pop out pretty easy with screw driver and hammer, as for putting it in if you have some kinda pipe (PVC I prefer) or something the dia. of the outside of the seal and long enough to fit over the input shaft would make it easier to install and make sure to use some locktite on the outside of the seal.

be careful not to knick the pump bushing with the screwdriver...its right behind the seal...learning this the hard way.... not hard just a word of caution...joel

You can do the job with a hammer and a screwdriver, but they do make tools for doing it easily. Don't forget that you'll need to clean the pump and use Loctite 271 red to retain the seal. Also mske sure you do not distort the seal when driving it in, or it will neither seal nor stay in the pump.
