What cars can I get the correct bucket seat padding out of besides gbodies? all I need is the bottom. Same with sunvisors, which cars if any?

The seat foam is the same as 3rd gen F-body. Some J-cars(Cavalier) too. Look for the seats with the seperate headrests like ours. And of course you know the passenger sides will always be better than the drivers side from less use. Sunvisors are also the same as 89 and older A-cars(Celebrity,Century,Ciera). Look for the chrome pivot and the pinch screw. Colors will vary depending on the year.

Eric, does the driver's & the pass side use the same foam?

great info. I was just at the local u-pull-it and there is 2 camaros out there and tons of those celebrities and cavilers. Thought the camaro padding would be the same just wanted to make sure. Anything else work off the camaros? Need a radiator support and miscellaneous little parts. thanks.

The foam is the same for both sides, cushion and seat back. The radiator support is G-body only.

Thanks a mill Eric.
If you ever vacation up in the NC Mtns, you need to look me up so I can repay all the help for pt# info, etc. ;)

I did some searching on camaro seat foam and found the following link

http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/body-interior/358009-anyone-make-seat-foam.html

the last post on the above link contains the following info. I don't think the seat back numbers are the correct part number for our seats, but the bottom cushion might be, maybe Eric can verify that number.

There are several different RPO codes for the foam and I am not sure of any but the AQ9 which is basically what the GTA seats were. These are the front seats as follows:

16739035 Pad D/Seat Back Cushion AQ9
16739034 Pad P/Seat Back Cushion AQ9

Looks like all the bottom cushions have the same part number

16794382

what about the back seat? are the bottoms the same as the front? I plan on going this saturday and would like to get the best I can get. So the BOTTOMS of the front seats are the same and the seat back cushions are different? I can get two passenger seats (if I can't use the back seats) and use them both up front right?

Those numbers are difinetly F-body only. I need to clarify on what to look for as there are a few types of pads used on the F and J bodies. There is a metal wire that runs through the bottom that holds the fabric tight. There is a ridge in the foam where this wire rides. Just make sure it is in the same postion. And I think thats easy to tell. Its either going to be forward like a GN or back like a lot of Camaros. And, if I read my books right the GN used a different pad than the T's and T-Types. Again the difference is where the wire is. Sorry for the confusion.

THis wire wraps around the bottom of the pad or through it? I guess I'll try looking for it and get back, thanks guys.

The wire goes through the pad. It is molded into the pad. The seat cover is hog ringed to the wire which keeps it pulled down tight.

THanks eric. I'll check out my car and check the camaros in the junkyard and let you know what I find.
